About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Improve systems and equipment reliability on the assigned process
- Reduce system/equipment downtime and support operation of the assigned process
- Follow all safety, environmental, and Standard Operating Procedure requirements
- Support development and establishment of maintenance procedures, maintenance plans, and spare parts lists
- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on assigned processes in a timely manner
- Document all maintenance activities correctly in SAP
- Partner with process owners to improve process equipment performance and reliability
- Train fellow technicians in areas of expertise and learn new systems
- Use Systematic Problem Solving tools to perform root cause analysis and resolve equipment issues
- Suggest practical equipment and department work-practice improvements
- Collaborate with Responsible Engineers and Manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot equipment problems
- Report to the Manager/Supervisor, Maintenance
- Perform other assigned accountabilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree in relevant field or equivalent military/industry training, including a thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical & control systems
- 1-5 years of relevant work experience required
- Knowledge of one or more listed Process Areas preferred
- Experience with automated records systems such as SAP preferred
- Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams & other technical documents
- Computer literacy preferred
- Experience in planning/organizing work, managing execution, checking results & revising the work plan a plus
- Systematic approach to problem solving & troubleshooting
- Support and active participation in event response activities for the process
- Documentation of problems and rapid resolution
- Ability to interpret mechanical & electrical specifications, drawings & other technical data sheets
- Ability to work rotating shifts, night shifts, extended shifts, and/or weekends
- Ability to move equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds
- Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift
- May require corrected vision to 20/25 and colour vision based on role
- Ability to occasionally ascend/descend a ladder and work at elevated heights
- Ability to work around odorous and/or hazardous materials, in extremely cold environments, confined spaces, loud noise, and outdoor weather conditions
- Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks; a valid driver’s license is not required
