About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build relationships and demonstrate the clinical outcomes and benefits of Novo Nordisk products
  • Provide medical information and educate healthcare providers and relevant organizations
  • Coordinate education workshops and provide product and scientific updates
  • Serve as a scientific liaison between Novo Nordisk and external customers
  • Provide advanced product, scientific, and medical field support to Medical, Sales, Marketing, Managed Care, and Government teams
  • Represent the organization externally to clinicians, professional societies, academic medical centers, integrated delivery networks, managed care organizations, and other healthcare organizations
  • Complete administrative duties, manage regional operations and budgets, and submit monthly scientific support reports
  • Attend and present at medical and scientific meetings
  • Develop relationships with healthcare providers, investigators, academic centers, and key formulary influencers
  • Establish medical account strategies and gather customer insights on Novo Nordisk and competitor products
  • Identify and recruit qualified investigators for company-sponsored activities
  • Prepare training materials and review sales representative training
  • Mentor new or junior Field Medical Affairs colleagues
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Medical, Clinical Research Associates, and other internal stakeholders
  • Provide clinical education and support to integrated health networks and formulary stakeholders
  • Coordinate and facilitate clinical studies, including site initiation, patient recruitment and retention, and study completion
  • Develop and present product, scientific, and formulary updates
  • Facilitate submission of pharmacoeconomic, outcomes research, and investigator-sponsored studies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Doctoral degree required
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a health related system, pharmaceutical company, or managed care environment
  • Four years of demonstrated success in a field medical liaison role required
  • Relevant clinical and/or therapeutic experience preferred
  • Business acumen/knowledge based on experiences such as participation in formulary process decisions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills required
  • 50–75% overnight travel required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must be in good standing by not exceeding the Novo Nordisk points threshold based on Motor Vehicle Records
  • Territory includes Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and New Mexico
