About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as the primary strategic coordination and integration point for the GMS IT Vice President and Leadership Team.
  • Guide leadership discussions toward strategic outcomes and structure priorities.
  • Shape narratives, frame dilemmas, prepare decision points and translate priorities into executive messages.
  • Anticipate leadership moments, stakeholder concerns and business planning needs.
  • Engage key partners across GMS Business Support and Enterprise IT.
  • Drive business planning processes with Finance, People & Organisation and other functions.
  • Serve as a member of the GMS IT Leadership Team, driving preparation, follow-up and execution of leadership meetings.
  • Own the Business Partner network across GMS IT and orchestrate organisational readiness.
  • Develop stakeholder engagement plans, executive communications, leadership updates and strategic storylines.
  • Drive follow-up on key initiatives and ensure alignment and follow-through across functions and organisational levels.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A master's degree in economics, business administration, finance or a related business discipline.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders and leadership teams in a strategic, coordination or business partnering capacity, for example as a Senior Business Partner, Chief of Staff, Executive Assistant, management consultant or strategy professional.
  • Strong stakeholder management across complex, matrixed organisations, with the ability to align diverse interests and influence outcomes without formal authority.
  • Proven ability to structure ambiguity, connect competing priorities and translate strategy into actionable plans.
  • Strong executive communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to turn complex IT, digital and organisational topics into simple, business-relevant messages.
  • Strong stakeholder intelligence and ability to anticipate concerns and involve the right people early.
  • Confidence to act as a trusted sparring partner to the VP.
  • Confident approach to using AI to work more effectively.
  • Resilience, discretion and a calm, senior presence in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English at a professional level.
  • Experience from large, global matrix organisations such as pharmaceuticals, FMCG or consulting is valued.
  • Familiarity with IT or Operational Technology (OT) environments is valued.
