About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Independently assess whether key risks are identified and managed, controls are working as intended, and important financial processes are reliable
Work across accounting, treasury, credit risk, market and liquidity risk, capital, and financial-market topics
Navigate Nubank’s data environment, connect information across systems and domains, and turn analysis into clear audit evidence and insights
Work on audits from planning through fieldwork and reporting
Understand processes and controls with stakeholders, identify risks, design and execute audit procedures, and document work and conclusions
Perform substantive testing, assess control effectiveness, and identify anomalies or emerging risks
Participate in walkthroughs with auditees to map processes and controls and help shape audit plans
Execute design and operating-effectiveness control tests and data-driven substantive tests
Produce clear, traceable audit workpapers linking risks, procedures, evidence, and conclusions
Communicate potential issues early and constructively using reliable evidence
Build collaborative relationships across Internal Audit and the business
Support audits across Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and the United States, communicating in English
Use technology to identify patterns, exceptions, and potential risks
Contribute to data-driven routines, indicators, automated tests, continuous auditing, and ongoing predictive monitoring

Requirements

What you’ll need

A solid foundation in accounting and financial markets, including an understanding of how financial institutions operate, how their chart of accounts is structured, and how their activities are reflected in accounting records
Data literacy and ability to navigate complex data environments
Knowledge of Scala, SQL, Python, or another programming language, and the ability to use them to explore and validate complex data
Proficient in risk management strategies
Clear, constructive communication and the ability to build collaborative relationships with auditees and teammates
Problem-solving skills, coupled with effective communication capabilities
Experience at a bank, fintech, payment institution, investment fund, insurer, or financial services audit practice is required
Be comfortable speaking with an English-speaking audience
Based in São Paulo, Brazil
In-office presence at HQ1 on Mondays and Thursdays / 2-3 days per week at the office
Legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located
