About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead legal workstreams for M&A, including internal and external counsel coordination, legal due diligence, transaction agreement negotiation, strategic discussions, and post-signing/post-closing measures
Review, negotiate, and draft contracts with global suppliers and strategic partners, focusing on technology and fintech agreements
Negotiate directly with counterparties and contribute to business strategy and vision
Use and promote AI tools for legal research, drafting, and review
Help the legal team adopt more efficient ways of working
Advise on technology and fintech products
Autonomously lead cross-functional projects relevant to Nubank's growth
Report to the Legal Director leading the Global Strategic Contracts & Growth team
Collaborate closely with Corporate Development and external advisors

Requirements

What you’ll need

Law degree and active admission to the New York Bar (in good standing)
Experience in M&A, particularly in the financial and technology sectors (law firm or in-house)
Experience with fintech products and in negotiating tech and fintech agreements
AI-forward and innovative mindset, with hands-on use of AI tools in legal work
Objective communication and proactive stakeholder management
Adaptability and fast learning
Holistic thinking
Proactive and curious attitude
Ability to solve problems creatively
Project management
Brazilian bar (OAB) membership (nice to have)
Advanced Spanish (nice to have)
