About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and evolve the multi-year vision for Nubank’s developer tooling ecosystem
  • Architect internal developer platforms, boundary APIs, test automation suites, and pull request review systems
  • Lead evolution of AI-driven code review using multi-model evaluations, IDE/GitHub plugins, and deterministic linting
  • Define when code changes may be automatically approved and merged versus requiring human intervention or secondary AI audits
  • Partner with engineers and product managers to elevate technical standards and DevEx practices
  • Establish observability, defect-tracking metrics, and safety rails for AI-assisted development
  • Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions for market tools, AI coding frameworks, internal agents, and third-party tooling
  • Influence developer productivity, PR review latency, codebase health, automated approvals, platform adoption, and developer satisfaction
  • Operate autonomously across thousands of microservices and engineering teams while helping lead the joint DevEx technical council
  • Report into platform leadership and serve as a technical authority across Nubank’s engineering transformation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Backend software engineering experience
  • Proven track record designing developer platforms, core infrastructure, or Developer Experience systems at high scale
  • Extensive expertise in code review systems, test automation platforms, CI/CD pipelines, developer platforms, or static analysis tools for massive engineering organizations
  • Hands-on experience or deep technical familiarity with AI-assisted software development
  • Experience with LLM evaluation pipelines, GitHub Copilot/agent integrations, prompt/context/graph engineering, or AI-driven code review frameworks
  • Demonstrable history of independently driving technical strategy and navigating ambiguity
  • Strong, battle-tested opinions on modern software development standards
  • Experience in fast-moving, high-bar environments such as top-tier technology firms, high-growth AI/DevEx startups, or elite AI labs
  • Availability to work onsite two to three days per week
  • Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is located
