About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead large-scale architectural shifts, including microservices refactoring, service optimization, and regionalization strategies
- Drive initiatives to increase hardware, database, and network utilization across global infrastructure
- Own the roadmap for embedding AI capabilities and advanced ML infrastructure into foundational platforms
- Map and manage technical dependencies across infrastructure, data engineering, and platform squads
- Partner with senior engineering stakeholders to define long-term technical architecture
- Convert architectural vision into actionable engineering phases
- Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from inception to production
- Guide the efficiency, scaling, and modernization of foundational platforms
Requirements
What you’ll need- Foundational background as an Infrastructure, Site Reliability (SRE), or Core Backend Engineer
- Deep technical expertise in infrastructure, SRE, or core backend engineering
- Hands-on technical leadership and ability to unblock teams using technical expertise
- Ownership mentality and entrepreneurial attitude
- Extensive experience managing massive cloud-native systems
- Deep experience with core networking, distributed databases, and high-utilization environments
- Track record of leading or heavily contributing to AI/ML transformation initiatives at scale
- Ability to navigate monoliths, microservices, and nano-services
- Experience executing horizontal multi-year infrastructure roadmaps
- Strong business acumen
- Executive communication skills
- Ability to work in an agile, fast-moving environment
- Availability to work onsite two to three days per week
- Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is located
