About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver end-to-end milestones on the traffic platform from problem definition through rollout and follow-up
- Own complex and ambiguous traffic-management problems and propose pragmatic solutions balancing reliability, performance, security and effort
- Design for failure, implement testing and observability, respond to incidents and drive preventative follow-ups
- Collaborate with engineers, product and partner teams to define needs, priorities, technical plans and milestones
- Use AI tools and agents to investigate issues, write and review code, explore solutions and automate repetitive work
- Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks for the traffic platform
- Share knowledge through reviews, sessions and function-level initiatives
- Support other engineers through code reviews, design discussions, pairing and daily collaboration
- Participate in support and on-call routines and use incidents, tickets and metrics to drive platform improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7 or more years of experience working in infrastructure, platform engineering, or distributed systems roles
- Operated large-scale, high-performance synchronous distributed systems in the cloud
- Experience working directly with load balancers, reverse proxies, TLS/mTLS and routing
- Experience using metrics, logs and traces to debug issues, optimize performance and improve reliability
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes-based infrastructure, including manifests, routing and deployment strategies, and DNS configuration
- Daily use of AI tools and agents in engineering workflows, with validation of outputs and attention to quality and safety
- Led end-to-end infrastructure platform projects from design to production go-live
- Experience with Istio, Linkerd, Envoy-based solutions, or Finagle
- Production experience with AWS networking and compute primitives, including ALB/NLB, security groups, VPC, Route 53 and IAM
- Hands-on experience with Pulumi or Terraform
- Experience building platform capabilities, shared libraries, abstractions, SDKs or internal tooling
