About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead strategic projects through implementation, including pricing, new-product economics, go-to-market strategy, and capital allocation
  • Frame problems, model options, align teams on recommendations, and help execute and measure outcomes
  • Own driver-based forecasts, headcount and capacity models, and recurring KPI dashboards
  • Contribute to the annual budget and long-range plan
  • Explain monthly and quarterly variances and recommend actions
  • Analyze funnel performance, marketing returns, retention, gross margin, and customer economics
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations on goals, hiring proposals, investment proposals, and tradeoffs
  • Own analysis and written narratives for selected board and investor materials
  • Support fundraising and diligence workstreams
  • Lead finance systems projects from requirements and tool evaluation through implementation and adoption
  • Use AI and automation to improve speed and reliability
  • Partner with Accounting and Data to strengthen data quality

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically 5–8 years combining rigorous analytical training in investment banking, investing, or a comparable role with operating finance experience at a B2B software company during rapid growth
  • Ability to build clean, driver-based Excel models from scratch
  • Demonstrated ownership, judgment, high agency, and follow-through
  • Understanding of SaaS metrics and unit economics, including ARR, retention, CAC, payback, and gross margin
  • Practical experience using and validating AI in work or workflow automation
  • Ability to explain complex analyses simply and communicate findings candidly
  • Ability to raise issues early and challenge assumptions constructively
  • SQL and BI tools such as Hex, Looker, or Sigma are nice to have
  • Experience with pricing, sales compensation, or subscription and usage-based revenue models is nice to have
  • Exposure to fundraising, board reporting, or planning tools such as Pigment or Anaplan is nice to have
