About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and operate the financial data plane for Numeric’s Financial Data Platform
- Develop scalable ingestion from APIs including NetSuite, Stripe, Brex, Ramp, and HubSpot
- Build file-based S3 inboxes and Postgres-to-ClickHouse replication
- Enforce data contracts and typed source data at system boundaries
- Manage lakehouse schemas through declare, codegen, and apply pipelines
- Scope queries, build ACLs, and protect customer data
- Develop batch processing and event-driven accounting systems
- Improve data correctness, observability, ingestion health, re-ingestion, and traceability from ledger entries to raw events
- Design reporting query patterns and materializations for scalable drill-downs
- Own a slice of the architecture end to end
- Collaborate with accounting module engineers, reporting teams, and AI agents
- Learn the accounting domain and help shape product direction
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of software engineering experience, with meaningful time on data-intensive systems
- Experience building or operating data pipelines, lakehouse, or warehouse systems in production
- Strong SQL and working understanding of columnar stores, partitioning, and query performance
- Experience with a modern transformation/orchestration stack such as SQLMesh, dbt, Dagster, Airflow, or similar
- Strong general-purpose programming skills, primarily TypeScript with Python
- Experience with ETLs, idempotency, watermarks, and backfills
- Comfort with TypeScript services, SQL, ClickHouse, Postgres, and transformation tooling
- ClickHouse, Iceberg, or Athena experience preferred
- Experience with multi-tenant data isolation, PII handling, or SOC 2/audit-driven controls preferred
- Prior exposure to financial or accounting data preferred
- Experience with Temporal or Inngest preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- Must be able to work from New York
