About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide exemplary member service to the Credit Union via phones, e-mail, web channels, mail, and facsimile
  • Process deposits and withdrawals
  • Review account information and credit/card transactions
  • Process loan payments
  • Provide basic online banking support
  • Support the Credit Union’s depository and lending products
  • Achieve cross-sell goals established by the Credit Union
  • Provide efficient and timely service to members
  • Provide basic member service transactions with quality and accuracy
  • Consult with members, identify needs, offer solutions, and follow up on pending transactions
  • Hold meaningful conversations with members in person or over the phone
  • Recommend products and services, including ancillary products
  • Open new member accounts, including savings, checking, money market, trust, certificates, and IRA accounts
  • Complete account cards, certificate applications and agreements, trust applications and agreements, and certificates of trust
  • Perform account maintenance, including address and name changes, account setup updates, joint owner and beneficiary updates, account closures, deceased account processing, and notary services
  • Identify and report suspicious behavior or suspected fraud
  • Complete required training and compliance modules
  • Treat co-workers and members with respect
  • Support and participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Represent the Credit Union positively and professionally
  • Maintain confidentiality of member and other sensitive information
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1 year retail experience with a proven track record in meeting and or exceeding service and sales goals
  • Basic understanding of financial products and services
  • Professional verbal skills and etiquette
  • Competent computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook and Excel)
  • Remote signing and ability to work and operate a webcam
  • Excellent follow up
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively listen, understand, and anticipate member needs
  • Excellent Written skills (Email) – Grammar and Spelling
  • Member service and organizational skills
  • Work well with other departments – Team player
  • Genuine interest in helping members through Conversations that Matter and have an empathetic and caring nature
