About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive territory growth by prospecting, developing, and converting new business opportunities within targeted markets
  • Expand existing customer relationships through increased market share, cross-selling, and strategic account development
  • Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue, margin, and growth objectives
  • Understand customer business needs and recommend tailored hardwood lumber solutions
  • Conduct customer meetings, facility visits, and sales presentations
  • Negotiate pricing, product offerings, and commercial agreements
  • Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, and Marketing teams from quote through delivery
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and customer insights
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasting through account planning and territory management
  • Represent Northwest Hardwoods with professionalism and integrity

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma
  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • Travel approximately 30% - 50% within an assigned territory
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field preferred; equivalent
  • 4–5 years of successful outside sales experience, preferably within the hardwood lumber, building products, industrial distribution, or related industries
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new business, grow existing accounts, and achieve aggressive sales goals
  • Proven success building strong customer relationships and influencing purchasing decisions at multiple organizational levels
  • Knowledge of hardwood lumber or building products is a strong plus, but not required
