About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support planning and delivery of work that helps the regulatory system operate effectively
- Connect priorities, risks, trade-offs and performance information to support better decisions
- Use performance insights to identify trends, risks, issues and opportunities
- Provide clear, practical and evidence-based advice to leaders and operational teams
- Bring people and information together across teams to support joined-up delivery
- Monitor performance against plans and identify where early action may be needed
- Improve planning tools, frameworks and processes so they are useful, consistent and easy to apply
- Support governance, committee, forum, Ministerial, OIA and reporting requirements
- Work closely with operational teams, leaders and stakeholders to strengthen consistency and improve regulatory outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- A good understanding of regulatory systems, government processes or complex operational environments
- Experience supporting planning, prioritisation or coordination across multiple teams or work programmes
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends, risks and opportunities
- Experience contributing to performance monitoring, reporting, assurance or governance processes
- Ability to provide clear, structured and evidence-based advice
- Strong relationship and engagement skills across teams and functions
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports, dashboards and briefings
- Good judgement, attention to detail and a proactive approach to solving problems in ambiguous settings
- Working knowledge of project or programme delivery approaches would be useful
- Knowledge of, or willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori
- Knowledge of, or willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in the public sector
- Legal right to live and work in New Zealand
