About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support senior living communities throughout Southern California
  • Serve as Maintenance Director in the absence of a community’s Maintenance Director
  • Plan, organize, develop, perform, and direct general operating maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the physical plant and the interior and exterior of the community
  • Oversee maintenance and housekeeping department operations to maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable property
  • Hire, evaluate, coordinate, motivate, monitor performance, schedule, and supervise department staff
  • Make recommendations to the Executive Director regarding staff evaluations, merit pay increases, reprimands, disciplinary actions, and terminations
  • Travel to assigned communities based on need and priority

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer minimum two (2) years’ experience in residential maintenance and/or housekeeping handling the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing and structural matters
  • Knowledge of building construction
  • Knowledge of budgeting
  • Knowledge of expense management
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance software
  • Basic computer skills
  • Prefer at least one (1) year experience supervising and managing employees
  • Ideal candidate will reside in the Riverside/IE market
  • Flexibility and availability required for frequently changing, extended travel assignments
  • Up to 95% travel required
