About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with functional leaders and subject matter experts to diagnose, align, and drive strategic People priorities
  • Advise and coach leaders on organisational design and effectiveness, change management, culture, engagement, and team development
  • Partner with Talent Partners and Centres of Excellence on headcount governance and organisational growth
  • Translate business goals into proactive talent roadmaps
  • Co-facilitate business talent reviews and succession mapping
  • Validate headcount plans and align team structures
  • Prepare the business for internal mobility and strategic external hiring
  • Drive and deliver Talent, Performance, Reward, and Reward cycles across functional areas
  • Contextualise and embed central People initiatives with business leaders
  • Act as expert advisor and coach for employee relations cases
  • Champion policy best practice and translate employment frameworks into fair, pragmatic local decisions
  • Use people analytics, market trends, and workforce insights to inform talent decisions and measure cycle impact
  • Identify functional trends and drive continuous performance improvement
  • Stay current with HR best practices, emerging AI tools, and market trends
  • Champion self-service tools and technology-enabled processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience partnering effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Track record of providing strategic HR guidance while balancing business objectives with empathetic colleague care
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Deep experience translating policy best practice into sound, pragmatic decisions
  • Confidence evaluating complex employee relations risks and coaching leaders through sensitive people matters
  • Proven ability to land, contextualise, and embed centrally designed Talent, L&D, Performance, and Reward frameworks
  • Confidence gathering, interpreting, and presenting people analytics and workforce insights
  • Outstanding communication, mediation, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to build trust, challenge constructively, and align stakeholders at all levels
  • Resilience and adaptability in fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving environments
  • Strong capability in delivering through others, including managing direct reports or matrix-leading cross-functional project teams
