About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide individualized medical care to assigned patients in person, electronically, and by telephone under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider
Assist with healthcare services for patients from varied backgrounds and age groups
Maintain positive relationships with patients and families
Support attending physicians and ensure efficient patient flow
Communicate by phone to meet patient needs accurately and promptly
Access company data systems and document pertinent medical information
Support patients and providers throughout visits
Ensure patients and providers are prepared for visits
Answer patient questions before departure and prepare rooms for subsequent appointments
Provide patient service through phone and in-person communication
Complete documentation, including patient registration when necessary
Maintain clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials through professional development
Adapt communication and behavior to specific patient populations
Comply with applicable laws, accreditation standards, regulations, and the employer’s Compliance & Privacy Program
Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma required
Medical Assistant Certification required
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required
Experience working with and maintaining confidential information
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Clinical knowledge
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to perform medium work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally
Ability to work with potential exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, communicable diseases, hazardous medications, and hazardous waste
