About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct patient care, including IV therapy, under the direction of a registered nurse
- Direct and assist ancillary nursing staff with assigned duties
- Interact with the multidisciplinary team and other personnel
- Use the nursing process through data gathering, planning, and evaluation
- Provide care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-related criteria
- Communicate effectively with patients, guests, family members, and coworkers
- Adapt to changing unit or department needs
- Maintain professional development, clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials
- Remain knowledgeable about applicable laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards
- Report known or suspected unethical conduct and patient, employee safety, privacy, or compliance concerns
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current licensed practical nursing (LPN) license in state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Self-directed and demonstrate good judgment
- Good interpersonal and delegation skills
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Must meet physical demands of heavy work, including exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to work in a patient care area and accept occupational exposure risks to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, hazardous medications, and hazardous waste
