About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform delegated nursing care for adult, geriatric, medical, and psychiatric patients
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including oral care and meals
  • Conduct and participate in therapeutic milieu activities under clinical staff direction
  • Participate in implementing improvements to unit quality-care standards
  • Comply with JCAHO National Patient Safety Goals
  • Adapt behavior, explanations, permissions, and communication style to individual patient populations
  • Remain knowledgeable about applicable laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Report known or suspected unethical, questionable, safety, privacy, and compliance-related concerns
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • American Heart Association Health Care Provider (BLS) certification required
  • Complete Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) requirements within first month of employment
  • Certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) preferred
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including 24/7, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability
  • Ability to perform medium work and routinely be exposed to blood, body fluid, tissue, communicable diseases, hazardous medications, and hazardous waste
