About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform proactive/prospective audits, retrospective/defense audits, and targeted and ad hoc charge capture audits
- Work with clinical personnel during audits
- Schedule audits, prepare action plans, and report during the Chart Audit Committee
- Advise and provide expert consultation to clinical departments on charges and medical documentation
- Assist with special projects and conduct internal training on revenue cycle competency and compliance
- Perform defensive and charge capture auditing functions
- Handle all aspects of the Chart Audit Committee
- Communicate audit results with applicable stakeholders
- Resolve assigned pre-bill and post-bill edit questions
- Remain knowledgeable about applicable laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- 5 years of related healthcare experience, OR 3 years of related healthcare experience with a master's degree
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including 24/7, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability
- Ability to travel throughout and between facilities
