About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and strategically direct the design, deployment, and evaluation of computational algorithms and predictive models across multiple business units
- Oversee junior data scientists on projects
- Research and implement machine learning techniques and statistical tests for healthcare analytics
- Establish data science and software development best practices, including version control, testing, and containerization
- Develop internal training programs and guidelines as the quantitative subject matter expert
- Mentor junior data scientists and guide project design, statistical methodology, and model interpretation
- Align data science goals with business objectives and work with business partners on project scoping, timelines, and documentation
- Influence organizational strategies through communication and presentations to stakeholders
- Author technical reports, statistical analysis plans, white papers, and peer-reviewed publications as needed
- Oversee the data pipeline from acquisition to analytics, ensuring data quality and governance
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or other related field
- 5 years of experience in data science or analytics in healthcare
- Hands-on experience developing, evaluating, deploying, monitoring, or supporting production AI or machine-learning solutions
- Experience evaluating generative AI, large language model, or conversational AI systems
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- Strong foundation in statistical modeling and experimental design
- Experience with large-scale datasets and cloud-based AI or machine-learning platforms
- Familiarity with development, deployment, MLOps, or LLMOps practices
- Ability to assess complex technical systems and diagnose performance issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with advanced analytical techniques, machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, data visualization, dashboards, and reporting tools
- Must be local to an Ochsner region
