About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with department managers and committees to identify, trend, and analyze clinical quality issues
- Facilitate collaborative resolution of clinical quality issues
- Support accreditation and survey processes within the organization
- Support Advanced Certification Specialty programs, where applicable
- Conduct report analysis on occurrences, outcomes, and other indicators
- Participate in organization committees and councils by providing data analysis, trended reports, and direction for performance improvement initiatives
- Provide education on performance improvement, clinical patient safety, and statistical analysis
- Serve as an organizational resource for regulatory requirements
- Conduct regularly scheduled Joint Commission Mock Surveys
- Facilitate continued organizational Joint Commission readiness
- Participate in risk management through identification, trending, and follow-up of clinical issues
- Adapt communication and behavior to specific patient populations
- Remain knowledgeable about applicable federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- 3 years of experience as a professional nurse in an acute care setting
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Knowledge of regulatory and accrediting standards
- General knowledge of quality management and continuous quality improvement
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including 24/7, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability
- Ability to travel throughout and between facilities
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- 5 years of experience as a professional nurse in an acute care setting preferred
