About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Install and configure routers or switches
Install and configure firewalls and/or load balancers
Install and configure applications in UNIX or Linux environments
Install and configure third-party middleware software when necessary
Perform basic, integration, alarm, and relevant testing to ensure system compliance with client requirements
Research and investigate related systems and products
Create test specifications when needed
Create operations manuals when needed
Review plans and designs to identify weaknesses and complexities affecting project quality and reliability
Prepare timely, comprehensive reports on required modifications, deficiencies, and new procedures
Participate in understanding client requirements
Troubleshoot external-interface issues and resolve system problems
Assist clients in understanding new services and Operations and Management functions
Travel onsite for pre-sales activities and/or project implementation when needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in IT or Engineering (Computer/Electronics and Communications/Electrical)
At least three to five years related work experience in Systems Integration
Knowledge of Unix or Linux scripting
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and Bash
Basic knowledge of SNMP, DNS, DHCP, and/or SMTP
Knowledge and experience in network design
Knowledge and experience configuring switches and routers
Knowledge of the latest virtualization and networking technology
Knowledge of Cisco and/or Juniper devices
Knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel and PowerPoint
Willingness to travel to Japan and/or other countries
Knowledge of firewalls and load balancers, Fortinet or similar firewalls, cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure, container orchestration such as Kubernetes, and automation tools such as Ansible is an advantage
Cisco, Juniper, AWS, or Azure certification is an advantage
Background or knowledge of Nihongo is an advantage
Efficient task completion, organizational, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to work with minimum supervision, learn quickly, and demonstrate attention to detail
Team player with a positive, can-do attitude; innovative and resourceful
