About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Join Octopus Tech's Onboarding team as a Frontend Engineer
- Improve existing consumer journeys and develop new projects impacting thousands of customers daily
- Focus on user experience with a strong human touch
- Collaborate with developers and teams across the organization
- Strengthen the technology stack and influence Octopus Energy's technology direction
- Work with teams across marketing, operations, and data
- Own frontend development work across the full cycle from requirements through deployment and monitoring
- Build products that lower bills, enable greener living, and deliver customer experiences
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of experience with the listed technology stack
- Experience developing strong solutions from problems rather than strict guidelines
- Confidence owning the full development cycle: request, requirements gathering, technical proposal, technical execution, deployment, and monitoring
- Confidence tackling large-scale tasks individually
- Empathetic approach to delegating work and collaborating with others
- Ability to develop websites meeting strong accessibility guidelines
- Experience building scalable, performant sites that handle high levels of traffic
- React
- TypeScript (desirable)
- Next.js on Vercel (desirable)
- GraphQL with Apollo (desirable)
- React Testing Library and Playwright
