About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical accounting, financial advice and support for strategic projects, including debt facilities, key contracts, intercompany activity, and M&A
  • Provide technical accounting advice to the group and business units during the audit process
  • Ensure implementation of accounting excellence across the group for new developments and initiatives
  • Lead accounting for due diligence on M&A activities
  • Collaborate with treasury, capital markets, legal, and tax teams on project implementations
  • Work with Group Reporting and auditors to ensure accurate disclosure of new projects in financial statements
  • Work with external advisors on key projects and selected advice
  • Work closely with the Group Corporate Finance Director
  • Support and grow a rapidly expanding global energy business

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Big 4 qualified (CA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Great post-qualified experience in practice or in industry
  • Excellent technical accounting experience in audit and/or advisory
  • Experience in controls implementations and business process improvements
  • Experience in local and international accounting standards
  • Experience in fast-paced, rapidly growing, global organisations
  • Hands-on experience delivering accounting workstreams on strategic business initiatives
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects
  • Ability to form trusted relationships with business unit management teams while retaining the ability to challenge with empathy and understanding
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
