About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in accounting and financial monitoring to ensure accurate and timely financial statements
  • Draft Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with partners and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with financial and accounting regulations and organizational policies
  • Record purchase, sales, and expense documents in the accounting software
  • Issue invoices and submit data to the AADE myDATA platform
  • Monitor customer and supplier accounts and outstanding balances
  • Perform bank and cash reconciliations
  • Prepare data for periodic VAT returns and other tax obligations
  • File and organize accounting documents, both physical and electronic
  • Communicate with clients, suppliers, and banks regarding payments and collections
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Handle tasks with public authorities and online platforms, including Taxisnet and GEMI
  • Prepare, process, and monitor contracts with external partners, including trainers/instructors, suppliers, and clients
  • Track contract terms, deadlines, and related payments
  • Support the CFO in the preparation of financial audits
  • Participate in financial planning meetings and contribute to financial strategy development
  • Support the CFO in managing relationships with auditors, banks, and other financial institutions
  • Support internal HR and accounting tasks
  • Provide training and support to staff on financial policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • At least 2 consecutive years of experience in financial management, accounting, or a related role
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g. Pylon Epsilon) will be considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Greek and English
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience in Greek Labour law regulations
  • Familiarity with the non-profit sector
  • Experience with procurement processes and contract management
  • Keen understanding of financial and accounting regulations and compliance requirements
  • Additional certifications in finance or accounting (e.g., CPA, CMA) are a plus
  • Experience with grant financial reporting
  • Proficiency in English language
