About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own and optimize all aspects of accounting operations, including quarterly and annual close processes and audit procedures
Manage a team of accounting professionals across four divisions, providing guidance, mentoring, coaching, and professional development
Prepare timely and accurate internal and external financial reports and analysis
Coordinate accounting activities to ensure compliance with US GAAP, accounting regulations, internal policies, and reporting deadlines
Implement new accounting standards and prepare technical memos for significant transactions
Develop and maintain documented accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Maintain inter-entity reconciliation and related financial recordkeeping processes
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and controls, reduce risk, and ensure sustainability
Coordinate annual financial and statutory audits with outside auditors
Support the CFO with Board and committee engagement, board presentations, budgeting, and forecasting
Collaborate with onshore and offshore cross-functional teams to provide financial insights
Review financial plans versus actual results, identify and correct variances, and participate in leadership and divisional discussions
Administer new accounting technology implementation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
10+ years of progressive accounting responsibility
Certified Public Accounting (CPA) certification required
Minimum of 5 years of accounting leadership experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Officer
Experience with multiple legal entities preferred
Prior private equity experience a plus
Logistics industry experience is a plus
Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly matrixed, global environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
Must be discreet in handling highly confidential and sensitive information
Analytical, data-driven decision making
Strong systems and process orientation
Ability to manage complexity across programs and vendors
Effective stakeholder communication and influence
Strong attention to detail and execution discipline
Currently authorized to work in the United States
