About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide expertise, strategic direction, and execution for a field sales organization across assigned local markets
  • Implement sales strategy and lead a team of sales representatives to achieve revenue and profit objectives
  • Manage sales representatives covering the entire regional market
  • Work with solutions partners to communicate customer requirements and deploy appropriate pricing models
  • Partner with the B2B leadership team to complement sales strategies
  • Spend substantial time in the market alongside Territory Sales Managers
  • Coach sales representatives in real time through ride-alongs and development plans
  • Strengthen key customer relationships and drive strategic initiatives for sustainable growth
  • Manage day-to-day operations of a field sales team
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain sales talent
  • Set expectations and performance standards and foster accountability and continuous improvement
  • Execute retention and growth strategies across existing and new accounts
  • Lead account planning, customer contact strategies, executive presence, and customer engagement
  • Partner with Marketing, Operations, Product, and other stakeholders on local programs and solutions
  • Drive sales, margin, and profitability targets
  • Establish and manage KPIs, forecasts, and performance reviews
  • Manage pipeline, ensure accurate forecasting, adhere to pricing policies and budget parameters, and balance growth, profitability, and customer experience

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in B2B field sales, account management, or sales leadership
  • At least 2+ years leading sales teams focused on retention and growth
  • Proven success in multi-channel or multi-segment environments, including private and/or public sector
  • Deep understanding of B2B contract sales models, particularly in office products, furniture, facilities, or technology solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex procurement and RFP environments in private and public sector accounts
  • Familiarity with strategic sourcing, supply chain dynamics, and category management
  • Strong knowledge of distribution channels, vendor partnerships, and rebate/incentive programs
  • Experience managing mid-market client portfolios across corporate, education, healthcare, and government sectors
  • Experience in forecasting, territory planning, and performance analytics
  • Sales leadership or coaching certifications preferred
  • Highly proficient with CRM tools such as Salesforce or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Comfortable using data and reporting tools
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities
  • Skilled at field coaching and developing frontline sellers and emerging leaders
  • Deep understanding of sales processes, contract structures, pricing models, and long-term retention strategies
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing, and presentation skills
  • Ability to align Sales, Operations, Marketing, and other functions
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a matrixed environment
  • Strong pipeline management, forecasting, performance review, and operational discipline
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
