About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the first point of contact for company-wide IT and systems questions
  • Triage and resolve hardware, software, and access issues
  • Build documentation and guidance for self-service and effective AI tool use
  • Own hardware procurement, deployment, lifecycle tracking, inventory, and budget
  • Manage MDM enrollment and configuration across a distributed Mac fleet
  • Administer identity provider and SSO; manage role-based access and conduct access reviews
  • Administer the SaaS and AI tool stacks
  • Evaluate and implement tools; manage vendors, contracts, renewals, licenses, seat allocation, and spend consolidation
  • Maintain network, connectivity, printers, peripherals, conference rooms, and all-hands AV across San Francisco and New York offices
  • Execute technical onboarding and offboarding, including provisioning, deactivation, access revocation, asset recovery, license reclamation, and data retention
  • Implement and maintain security configurations and support remediation work
  • Partner with security owners, Legal, and Compliance
  • Build scalable runbooks, workflows, and automation
  • Train and support employees on AI tools and advise leadership on adoption, cost, and appropriate use

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 to 8 years in IT operations or systems administration
  • Experience as the sole or first IT hire, or equivalent experience operating with a high degree of autonomy
  • Hands-on experience owning or supporting security programs and practices, including access management, endpoint security, vulnerability management, security tooling, and incident response
  • Fluent, daily use of AI tools and ability to teach others
  • Strong hands-on administration of Google Workspace
  • Experience with an identity provider such as Okta
  • Mac fleet management through an MDM
  • Demonstrated ownership of a modern SaaS stack, including access management, licensing, and cost control
  • Sound judgment about what to handle independently and what to escalate
  • Patient, service-oriented approach with non-technical colleagues
  • Experience configuring security controls against an established framework
  • Multi-site network and AV setup
  • Ability to work from the San Francisco office 3 days per week
  • Bonus: Direct experience driving AI adoption across a non-technical population or advising leadership on AI tooling decisions
