About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary interface between business partners and technology services
- Align business partner needs with technology services and translate priorities into actions for project delivery teams
- Facilitate ongoing technology innovation for the business
- Act as IT business partner for work delivered by product delivery teams
- Work with enterprise architecture and IT governance teams to ensure projects follow appropriate standards and practices
- Develop and champion product vision, strategy, and roadmap for assigned products
- Develop product roadmaps with stakeholders in alignment with organizational and business-line objectives
- Communicate product vision to product owners and development teams
- Lead product lifecycle processes, including research, competitive analysis, planning, requirements development, and product delivery
- Assess user experience delivered by product features
- Establish KPIs and goals, track results, and evaluate success or failure
- Build stakeholder relationships, identify business needs, implement solutions, monitor results, and capitalize on improvement opportunities
- Understand and articulate the portfolio vision
- Solve business needs through technical applications
- Make moderately to highly complex decisions regarding technical delivery approaches with minimal direction
- Manage customer perceptions and proactively address product deficiencies
- Own the product portfolio and support continuous improvement of product lifecycle initiatives
- Gather and articulate project requirements with stakeholders
- Evaluate electric utility industry trends, legal and regulatory conditions, competitive products, and marketplace technology changes
- Balance stakeholder needs with cost and benefit considerations
- Influence department strategy based on current and future technology assets
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in MIS or related field and 4 years of experience managing or leading projects, product ownership, or performing similar work; Or High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of experience managing or leading projects, product ownership, or performing similar work
- General knowledge of IT projects, including business cases, approvals, budgeting, project management, waterfall and agile methodologies, analysis, design, build, testing, quality assurance, operations, service levels, and contracts
- Ability to understand complex problems, develop solutions, and take appropriate actions toward resolution
- Ability to think strategically and tactically and build shared visions with business teams
- Ability to influence and build trust at all organizational levels
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, public speaking, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills
- Skilled at developing proposals with significant services components and business cases
- Knowledge of technical disciplines, market understanding, strategic planning, and quality assurance
- Ability to set, evaluate, and prioritize new products and services
- Ability to acquire insights to facilitate development and implementation of products and services meeting customer requirements and financial returns
- Ability to influence and align business leaders for successful execution of assigned product lines and projects
- Ability to establish product objectives, timelines, sales goals, and promotional goals
