About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate appointments with providers for patients, referring physicians, and facilities across multiple states
- Communicate key information to patients and staff, including insurance coverage, financial responsibilities, and appointment dates/times
- Provide warm, friendly, and excellent customer service
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments accurately using practice scheduling protocols and tools
- Provide information about services to physicians and other callers
- Respond promptly to patient, provider, and team member requests
- Maintain and update patient information and knowledge of insurance protocols
- Determine insurance benefits using eligibility systems, online websites, or phone calls
- Explain benefits and financial obligations to patients and guarantors
- Handle billing inquiries, collect out-of-pocket payments, and process payments
- Communicate insurance issues and work with billing teams to correct coverage issues
- Maintain insurance panels
- Obtain approval for schedule changes or cancellations
- Meet management-assigned goals and objectives
- Escalate problems to management
- Complete other duties based on patient needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be bilingual Spanish speaking
- Experience with insurance eligibility
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to work well with others in a team-driven environment
- Ability to adhere to quality and productivity standards
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
