About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage daily operations and supervise Quality Outcomes Management/Performance Improvement, Patient Safety, Accreditation/Regulatory Compliance, Peer Review, and Infection Prevention functions
  • Supervise outcomes managers, regulatory compliance, Quality support, and Infection Prevention staff, including hiring, performance evaluations, scheduling, accountability, and disciplinary actions
  • Assist the Director of Quality and Safety with strategic direction for OhioHealth Quality and Patient Safety initiatives
  • Integrate clinical and financial information to maintain or improve quality
  • Develop appropriate budgets and manage them daily
  • Provide expertise on innovations and improvements to care processes to improve clinical quality and patient safety and meet or exceed regulatory requirements
  • Consult with and educate physicians and departments regarding clinical quality improvement
  • Provide education on advances in clinical management and coordinate efforts to improve clinical safety and quality
  • Develop and implement strategies responding to Root Cause Analyses, Failure Modes and Effects Analyses, and Common Cause Analyses
  • Liaise with hospital departments to improve quality and safety for specific patient populations
  • Develop strategies to meet or exceed regulator and accreditor expectations
  • Promote best practices, customer satisfaction, and process improvement activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or other allied health field; or field of study in Nursing with equivalent experience
  • Current license in the State of Ohio or national certification in your professional association
  • Knowledge of hospital regulatory requirements, including those of the Joint Commission
  • Problem-solving, prioritization, and negotiation skills
  • Project management ability, including analyzing, interpreting, and communicating clinical/financial data
  • Familiarity with computer technology and ability to use databases and spreadsheets
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and teaching/training skills
  • Management skills including team building, delegation, performance evaluation, and corrective action planning
  • 3 years of experience managing quality improvements in a hospital or acute care setting
  • National certification in area of expertise, Lean/Six Sigma training and/or certification are desired attributes
