About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide clinical support to healthcare professionals and physician practices
  • Serve as a clinical subject matter expert in the practice
  • Train new clinical staff when possessing 2+ years of experience
  • Lead and promote clinical quality and safety standards
  • Facilitate efficient patient flow, prepare patients for visits, and provide services directed by providers
  • Complete Care Connect EMR documentation and maintain the EMR inbox
  • Perform administrative duties and keep patient information current
  • Maintain and clean the work environment and equipment; report malfunctions
  • Collect and monitor patient data and report patient needs
  • Maintain documentation for chargeable patient items and services
  • Monitor quality, cost effectiveness, and operational efficiency
  • Participate in process and quality improvement and implement recommendations
  • Complete ongoing professional study, training, and education
  • Promote patient quality, safety, and experience initiatives
  • Serve as an SME/resource for quality, performance improvement, and EMR, including EPIC Super User responsibilities
  • Support development of standard work and necessary customizations
  • Function as a clinical preceptor and train new staff
  • Work in accordance with provider licensure, Ohio policy, and scope of practice

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • One of: completion of a High School Medical Assistant Career Technical Program; graduation from an accredited School of Medical Assisting; completion of Military Medic training; certification as a Paramedic (EMT-P); or at least one year of experience as a physician-trained Medical Assistant in a similar clinical setting
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
  • Successful completion of Care Connect EMR documentation skills
  • Experience using EMR documentation, preferably EPIC
  • Experience as an EPIC SuperUser or trainer
  • Experience as a preceptor
  • Compliance with scope of practice
  • Completion of required continuous training and department-specific education
  • Ability to work day shift, 40 scheduled hours weekly
