About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist physicians with patient care in compliance with the Ohio Administrative Code
  • Perform delegated administrative and clinical duties based on practice needs
  • Facilitate efficient patient flow, prepare patients for visits, and provide services determined by providers
  • Complete Care Connect EMR documentation and maintain the EMR in-basket
  • Update and maintain patient and administrative information
  • Maintain and clean the work environment, equipment, and work area; report equipment malfunctions
  • Collect and monitor patient data and report patient needs as directed
  • Maintain documentation for patient chargeable items and services
  • Monitor quality, cost effectiveness, and efficiency of processes and services
  • Participate in process and quality improvement activities and implement operational efficiency recommendations
  • Promote patient quality, safety, and experience initiatives
  • Serve as a subject matter expert/resource for quality, performance improvement, and EMR, including EPIC Super User responsibilities
  • Support development of standard work and necessary customizations
  • Function as a clinical preceptor and train new staff
  • Maintain professional competence through continuing study, training, and education

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Completion of a High School Medical Assistant Career Technical Program, or graduation from an accredited School of Medical Assisting, or completion of Military Medic training, or certification as a Paramedic (EMT-P), or at least one year of experience as a physician-trained Medical Assistant in a similar clinical setting
  • High School or GED (Required)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
  • MA - Medical Assistant - Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants
  • Successful completion of Care Connect EMR documentation skills
  • Compliance with Ohio Administrative Code, OH policy, licensure, and scope of practice
  • Completion of required continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements
