About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide leadership and advanced coordination for Maternal Fetal Medicine services
- Navigate and coordinate care for high-risk pregnant patients with diabetes, hypertension, fetal conditions, and other complex needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and management to coordinate patient care and support the nursing team and department
- Perform non-stress tests and electronic fetal monitoring
- Provide high-acuity patient navigation and assist with procedures
- Serve as a resource for associates through communication, scheduling/vacation-time coordination, coaching, mentoring, and team orientation
- Communicate pertinent and emergency information according to policies and procedures
- Explain care to patients, reduce anxiety, and obtain cooperation
- Record and document information in the electronic medical record
- Assist with development and oversight of internal clinic guidelines and procedures
- Oversee quality-control and performance-improvement goals and development
- Promote teamwork, service excellence, and patient-centered care
- Attend scheduled and monthly staff meetings, in-service training, committees, and other required functions
- Oversee nursing-team orientation and training with the manager
- Follow infection-control, safety, emergency/disaster, and HIPAA procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Ohio RN License
- Bachelor's of Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of 5 years RN experience
- EFM certification preferred
- Experience with nonstress tests (NST) highly desirable
- Women's Health experience (OB office and/or L&D preferred)
- Familiarity with infection control, safety, emergency/disaster procedures, and HIPAA
- Ability to use and understand computers to document and review information
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, department staff, physicians, and internal/external customers
- Ability to protect patient health information and maintain confidentiality, authorized treatment access, and data security
