About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare patients for examinations and perform diagnostic radiology procedures
  • Conduct routine radiographic studies and specialized fluoroscopy studies using digital fluoroscope equipment
  • Maintain proficiency in diagnostic radiology and fluoroscopy procedures
  • Provide radiation safety for operators and patients
  • Position patients and anatomical parts to obtain optimal radiographs
  • Operate and adjust radiology equipment and technical factors to produce quality images
  • Observe patients during procedures and respond to changes
  • Review, critique and repeat images as necessary
  • Receive procedure orders and enter information into the electronic medical record
  • Greet and positively identify patients and explain procedures
  • Ensure patients are properly attired and remove necessary clothing and jewelry
  • Start IVs and draw up medications
  • Cross-train in the Medical Assistant role to support office workflow
  • Perform electronic imaging technician duties when necessary
  • Process images, import images and burn CDs
  • Perform quality-control tests on X-ray equipment and address issues as necessary
  • Work with students enrolled in radiography programs under program guidelines
  • Support four physicians and one nurse practitioner rotating among four locations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's Degree required
  • Graduate of an approved accredited radiography program
  • Registered with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Ohio Radiologic License from the Ohio Department of Health required
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Thorough knowledge of medical imaging procedures and equipment
  • Knowledge of radiographic technique, positioning, handling and administration of ionizing radiation, including contrast media agents
  • Knowledge of radiographic anatomy and physiology and medical terminology
  • Ability to work closely with feet in a podiatry office
  • Ability to function as a team member with limited supervision
  • Effective written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Pleasant demeanor, neat and poised appearance
  • Comfortable working across four office locations in Mansfield, Lexington and Ashland
