About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform a variety of accounting duties according to established policies and procedures
  • Produce and analyze monthly financial statements
  • Reconcile work papers for assigned general ledger accounts and make journal entries
  • Review entity templates for completeness and accuracy and resolve issues with entities
  • Prepare analytical reviews and participate in related conference calls
  • Reconcile the monthly Corporate Finance bank account
  • Prepare financial binders for executives and assist with questions from financial meetings
  • Distribute monthly board packages internally and externally
  • Prepare and distribute Central Ohio, Obligated Group quarterly reports and schedules
  • Prepare and distribute consolidated audited financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Work with Corporate Consulting on annual entity budget templates and consolidated budget models
  • Reconcile and load PeopleSoft statistics
  • Create financial reports in Excel or PeopleSoft
  • Work with the PeopleSoft department to convert audit, quarterly, and monthly reports to PeopleSoft and maintain them
  • Assist with special projects for upper management or organizational changes
  • Communicate instructions, perform minor scheduling, and inspect other employees' work
  • Provide backup coverage for the Manager Corporate Finance during absences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a business-related field from a four-year college or university
  • Three to five years of experience in a progressively responsible accounting position
  • Strong understanding of the relationship between income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
  • Ability to analyze financial reports for accuracy and reasonableness
  • Ability to prepare and maintain supporting schedules
  • Ability to identify and correct accounting reports
  • Logical problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform with minimal instruction
  • Ability to serve as a resource for other employees
  • Strong PC, analytical, organizational, and Excel skills
