About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings
- Practice nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing
- Delegate nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) according to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act
- Provide professional nursing care according to department policies and nursing care standards
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients
- Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments
- Document planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems
- Evaluate and document patient responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes
- Revise plans of care based on evaluative data as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Participate in process improvement activities focused on clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance
- Focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in job duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 2 years ED experience required
- Associate's Degree
- Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio and/or current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi-state compact state
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- BSN required at 5 years of employment
- Ability to work night shifts with rotating holidays and weekends
- Ability to float to other sites depending on department needs
