About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the full lifecycle delivery and support of enterprise applications, focusing on Banner ERP, integrations, and institutional systems
  • Ensure reliability, performance, availability, monitoring, maintenance, and issue resolution for production systems
  • Oversee and approve production changes, including releases, integrations, configurations, and data workflows
  • Maintain understanding of enterprise architecture, data flows, and cross-system dependencies
  • Design and deliver Banner integrations with internal and external systems using APIs, middleware, and orchestration patterns
  • Modernize legacy systems through refactoring, re-platforming, and incremental replacement
  • Automate institutional workflows and improve data accuracy and accessibility
  • Build and support solutions incorporating AI and automation capabilities
  • Evaluate and implement AI tools aligned with architecture, data governance, and security requirements
  • Establish development standards, architectural patterns, and integration practices
  • Ensure alignment with security, privacy, and data governance requirements
  • Contribute to technical strategy, platform selection, and long-term roadmap planning
  • Identify system risks, technical debt, and capacity constraints and provide recommendations
  • Partner with Product Coordinators to translate requirements into technical designs and delivery plans
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, Student Services, and Academic stakeholders
  • Enable access to reliable and integrated enterprise data for data-informed decision-making
  • Lead, mentor, review, and support programmer analysts
  • Recruit, hire, orient, and develop staff, including performance expectations and annual reviews
  • Coordinate internal resources, vendors, and contractors
  • Promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Report to the Associate Director, IT Operations and Infrastructure

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A four-year degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, plus a minimum of 6 years of progressive, hands-on experience in enterprise systems, software development, or systems integration; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and enhancing large-scale enterprise systems, ideally including ERP platforms such as Banner
  • Strong experience in systems integration, APIs, data exchange, and enterprise data management
  • Proven ability to lead or coordinate technical teams, including mentoring, work review, and delivery oversight
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle, change management, and production support practices
  • Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server and enterprise data structures
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, automation tools, and modern development practices including CI/CD and DevOps
  • Practical experience incorporating automation or AI capabilities into enterprise systems is an asset
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders in a complex environment
  • Experience in a post-secondary or similarly complex institutional environment is strongly preferred
