About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Hold full P&L responsibility for OKTO PAYMENTS' South LATAM operations across Argentina, Chile, and Paraguay
  • Own revenue and cost performance, ensuring targets are met and resources are allocated efficiently
  • Balance short-term delivery with long-term growth while protecting margin and enabling commercial expansion
  • Ensure products and services meet client expectations for quality and consistency
  • Identify quality gaps and coordinate with Product and Operations to resolve issues
  • Maintain a close client feedback loop to capture satisfaction, pain points, and unmet needs
  • Track payments, fintech, and iGaming/betting market developments in South LATAM
  • Map future client needs and market opportunities and provide input to the global product roadmap
  • Monitor competitor activity, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic dynamics
  • Identify, approach, and convert new commercial opportunities in South LATAM markets
  • Build and manage relationships with key partners and suppliers, including technology providers, distributors, and commercial intermediaries
  • Own senior-level relationships with key accounts to ensure continuity, trust, and long-term contract value
  • Ensure compliance with local licensing, AML/KYC, and regulatory obligations
  • Represent OKTO with regulatory and governmental authorities as needed
  • Monitor and manage Chilean CMF relations, understand the new Ley Fintech, and track online gambling regulation
  • Understand and manage Paraguay-related BCP and Conajzar frameworks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7-10+ years of multi-country senior commercial/general management experience in payments, fintech, PSP/acquiring or iGaming
  • Proven experience opening new verticals, including P&L ownership, in the broader Southern Cone
  • Strong working knowledge of the Southern Cone (Argentina, Chile, Paraguay) payments landscape, including card acquiring, bank transfers, and local settlement
  • Knowledge of the Southern Cone regulatory environment, including BCRA and related bodies and CMF in Chile
  • Familiarity with Chile's payment ecosystem, including Transbank/Webpay, account-to-account solutions such as Khipu, and the emerging Open Banking landscape
  • Understanding of Paraguay's acquiring networks such as Bancard, mobile money ecosystem such as Tigo Money, and SIPAP, specifically SPI
  • Proven track record building and growing commercial relationships with merchants, partners, and suppliers in a regulated, high-risk, or high-volume vertical
  • Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor with no direct reports
  • Fluent Spanish (native/business fluency)
  • Strong working English for global reporting and stakeholder alignment
  • Executive-level stakeholder management, negotiation, and P&L/financial acumen
  • Based in Buenos Aires
  • Willing to travel frequently within the Southern Cone
  • Existing senior relationships across the South LATAM iGaming, fintech, or high-risk e-commerce ecosystem (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with local regulatory registrations/licenses and associated compliance obligations (nice-to-have)
  • Applied use of AI/productivity tools such as Salesforce, Power BI, and Office 365 (nice-to-have)
