About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide professional, compliant and member-focused retirement benefits counselling
  • Help members understand retirement options, fund benefits and available support
  • Engage members through retirement readiness programmes, campaigns, webinars, workshops, seminars and individual counselling sessions
  • Explain retirement processes, available options, fund requirements and key considerations
  • Maintain knowledge of Old Mutual Corporate retirement income solutions, annuity products and default annuity strategies
  • Promote and utilise retirement calculators, digital tools, educational resources and member support platforms
  • Collaborate with employers, HR representatives, financial advisers and internal stakeholders
  • Facilitate member education sessions and participate in team learning and knowledge sharing
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with regulatory, fund, governance and quality requirements
  • Build trusted relationships with members and stakeholders and contribute to a positive team environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in the Retirement Fund Industry
  • Relevant qualification at NQF Level 6 or higher
  • NQF Level 7 degree, Advanced Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Retirement Benefits Counsellor, Employee Benefits Consultant or Member Consultant is advantageous
  • Working knowledge of retirement fund administration and retirement processes is advantageous
  • Exposure to annuity products and retirement income solutions is advantageous
  • CFP, RPE or other relevant industry qualification is advantageous
  • Skills in client management, client needs assessments, consultative selling, customer service, sales software, sales data management, sales closing techniques and customer relationship development
  • Attention to detail, planning and organising, communication, customer focus, networking and operational execution
