About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review and interpret chains of title and property records
- Examine ownership histories and identify title issues, restrictions, liens, encumbrances, and other matters affecting title
- Verify property, ownership, and tax information for completeness and accuracy
- Review legal descriptions, maps, plats, and supporting documentation
- Prepare and issue preliminary title reports
- Confirm appropriate title search parameters and starter bases
- Ensure all relevant information is captured and accurately reflected in title products
- Support title search operations and workflow as needed
- Maintain accuracy and production standards while meeting deadlines
- Collaborate with team members and internal stakeholders to support exceptional customer service
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 2 years of title industry experience
- Experience examining title records, ownership histories, and chains of title
- Strong understanding of title insurance practices and title examination principles
- Knowledge of legal descriptions, real property records, and real estate documentation
- Ability to analyze and interpret title information accurately and efficiently
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience preparing preliminary title reports (preferred)
- Knowledge of Florida real estate and title practices (preferred)
- Experience with title plants and property information databases (preferred)
- Familiarity with mapped-property searches and direct starter-based examinations (preferred)
