About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct market research on trends, competitive dynamics, and consumer preferences
- Identify and quantify distribution gaps across Oliver Winery's portfolio
- Perform fair share, market indexing, velocity, TDP, geographic, and root-cause analyses
- Analyze volume, market share, pricing, promotions, shelf space, and distribution performance
- Deliver actionable insights for account presentations, business reviews, and executive decisions
- Design reports, category reviews, leave-behinds, and customized recurring or ad-hoc reporting
- Provide merchandising insights and SKU-level assortment recommendations
- Conduct post-program analysis and optimize promotional strategies
- Develop pricing strategies, promotional plans, and trade-spend recommendations
- Lead distributor compliance analysis and score-carding for reset execution and programming
- Support data-driven category plans aligned with customer objectives and Oliver's growth priorities
- Develop and present category reviews and business-planning presentations to internal and external stakeholders
- Quantify revenue opportunities for distribution gaps, SKU additions, and market expansion
- Partner with National Account, Trade Marketing, Marketing, Sales, and senior leadership teams
- Provide timely support for ad-hoc data requests, analytical questions, and system support
- Monitor industry trends, shopper insights, competitor activity, and data tools
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of experience in Category Management, Trade Marketing, Analytics, or Insights
- CPG and/or retail experience strongly preferred
- Fluency with retail scan data, including Nielsen, TABS, IRI/Circana, or equivalent
- Proficiency in TDP and velocity-based analysis
- Experience with fair share analysis and market indexing
- Ability to conduct cross-retailer and cross-market benchmarking
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Proficiency in Nielsen, TABS, Power BI, VIP, or equivalent category management platforms
- Familiarity with data visualization tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to design self-contained deliverables, leave-behinds, category reviews, and reports
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and timelines
- Willingness to travel approximately 1–2 trips per month
- Interest in and appreciation for wine and the beverage industry
