About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Turn complex data into actionable category insights and growth opportunities
- Present insights and recommendations to internal leadership and external retail partners
- Conduct item-level, account-level, and market-level retail scan data analysis
- Perform TDP, velocity, fair share, market indexing, cross-retailer, and cross-market analyses
- Estimate revenue opportunities using TDP × velocity logic or comparable-market benchmarks
- Identify, prioritize, and communicate the most important category gaps and opportunities
- Build models, dynamic reports, presentation-ready visuals, leave-behinds, category reviews, and standalone reports
- Engage customers, vendors, and distributors to build strong relationships
- Collaborate across Sales, Trade Marketing, and senior leadership
- Manage deadlines, deliverable quality, project organization, and follow-through with minimal supervision
- Attend sales meetings, customer visits, planning workshops, and category reviews
- Apply beverage-industry knowledge to support the Oliver Winery brand
- Make business and financial decisions within sales-plan and budget parameters
- Contribute to a positive work environment and model Oliver values
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of experience in Category Management, Trade Marketing, Analytics, or Insights
- CPG and/or retail experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated fluency with retail scan data (Nielsen, TABS, IRI/Circana, or equivalent), including item-level, account-level, and market-level analysis
- Proficiency in TDP and velocity-based analysis
- Experience with fair share analysis and market indexing
- Ability to conduct cross-retailer and cross-market benchmarking
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Proficiency in Nielsen, TABS, Power BI, VIP, or equivalent category management platforms
- Familiarity with data visualization tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to design standalone deliverables, leave-behinds, category reviews, and reports
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and timelines
- Willingness to travel approximately 1–2 trips per month
- Interest in and appreciation for wine and the beverage industry
- Equivalent work experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree
