About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Run and own a squad that builds Omada Health’s member-facing systems from prototype to production
Own squad priorities, delivery order, backlog grooming, estimation, and iteration shaping
Ship production code every sprint using the squad’s agent workflows
Own cycle time improvements without sacrificing quality
Partner with the Product Strategist on scope, delivery feasibility, cost, and timing
Set the squad’s quality bar and operational standards
Provide leadership, developmental feedback, and growth opportunities to engineers
Lead on-call rotations, MTTR improvement, and post-incident analysis
Escalate tradeoffs and provide data-backed recommendations
Hire AI-augmented engineers for Omada Health

Requirements

What you’ll need

6+ years in software engineering, including at least 2 years managing engineers, or equivalent experience leading delivery for a team you were accountable for
Track record shipping mission-critical software to production and owning the results
Experience owning prioritization and estimation for a team, including saying no, not now, and explaining why
Experience giving direct developmental feedback and managing someone through underperformance with real support
Currently or recently shipping production code in backend (Ruby, Python, etc.), web frontends (React), iOS, or Android
Sufficient breadth to follow discussions across other stack layers and critically review architecture decisions
Comfort with an expert-generalist team model
Hands-on experience directing AI agents through real-world production changes
Understanding of CI/CD, logging, monitoring, and telemetry
Excellent written communication
