About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review, draft, negotiate, and close commercial contracts, including vendor product and services agreements, employment agreements, and healthcare-related agreements
  • Provide rapid, practical, business-oriented legal and commercial contract guidance to businesspersons
  • Support negotiations involving pricing, deliverables, service scope, warranties, and other commercial terms
  • Interpret and explain contract terms and conditions to corporate stakeholders
  • Apply practical business judgment to maximize revenues, minimize risk, and foster long-term clinical and business partner relationships
  • Identify complex issues requiring escalation to senior legal team members
  • Assist more senior counsel and management with higher-level matters
  • Report to the Senior Counsel—Healthcare and Operations
  • Collaborate on and facilitate cross-team decision-making among internal teams
  • Work with outside counsel on matters requiring specialized expertise
  • Manage assigned projects through completion
  • Perform additional responsibilities supporting the mission of improving the lives of people living with cancer

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5-7 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • Member of a state or DC bar
  • Significant experience in drafting and negotiating general commercial contracts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated success working in a high-performing, results-driven environment
  • Strong work ethic and ability to draft and close commercial agreements with minimal support from senior staff
  • Attention to detail and superior organizational skills
  • Ability to think and decide quickly, and communicate legal issues and solutions clearly and concisely
  • Highest standards of ethics, professional integrity, and discretion
  • Self-starter able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage workflow, including multiple complex projects, proactively and responsively
  • High degree of cultural and emotional intelligence, resilience, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Ability to collaborate and work with a team mindset
