About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform daily opening and closing procedures of the office
  • Welcome patients and visitors in a pleasant, professional manner
  • Assist in comforting patients and maintaining the reception area
  • Answer telephones, respond to inquiries, resolve issues, and schedule patient appointments
  • Collect co-pays and balance total office finances daily
  • Assist patients with necessary forms and documentation
  • Build and maintain patient records using the practice EMR system
  • Build, monitor, and maintain physician schedules according to scheduling rubrics
  • Assist with daily distribution of quality assurance surveys and prevention screenings
  • Monitor and respond to Care Team inbox messages in collaboration with a nurse
  • Monitor daily visit lists to ensure required appointments are scheduled
  • Protect patient privacy by adhering to HIPAA confidentiality guidelines
  • Transition into other related daily roles as necessary
  • Maintain daily office operations by following standard policies and procedures
  • Perform assigned special projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma with at least 2 years of patient facing reception experience
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to accept direction and work within a team concept
  • Strong customer service skills
  • 1yr of an EMR experience-Preferred
  • Bilingual English and Spanish (preferred)
  • Must be available to float to our Riverhead, East Moriches, Wading River, Rocky Point, Mt. Sinai, & Port Jefferson NYH offices
