About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create individualized care plans for patients under your supervision and care.
- Monitor and chart vital signs, weight, and height.
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge.
- Assist physician with exams and/or urologic procedures.
- Sterilize surgical instruments.
- Prepare and administer injections.
- Provide supportive resources to the patient and the families to promote a positive outlook.
- Teach patients and the families regarding treatment expectations.
- Watch and record the patient’s progress on a constant basis.
- Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication.
- Complete MAR after treatment.
- Provide the patient with discharge instructions specific to the patient as well as emergency numbers after care.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Valid New York State RN License
- Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
- Frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient bodily fluids.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
- 5 8.5 hour shifts Monday-Friday, 7am-6pm
