About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead technical design and implementation for projects powering the @Work platform
Set architectural standards and ensure best practices in code quality, performance, and scalability
Partner with product, design, and operations to shape and deliver @Work product strategy
Oversee optimization of systems for reliability, security, and scalability
Own technical decision-making, balancing rapid delivery and sustainable solutions
Build simple and beautiful experiences for daily interactions with money, earnings, and pay schedules
Work with Node, TypeScript, NestJS, microservices, Kubernetes, AWS, React Native, iOS, Android, and web platforms

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience building and scaling distributed systems, high-throughput APIs, or data-intensive services
Solid hands-on full-stack engineering skills
Proficiency in backend architecture and modern frontend frameworks
Experience designing or working on reliable, secure, and high-performance systems
Experience ideally in payments, EWA, or other regulated consumer finance domains
Familiarity with modern software engineering practices
Clear communication skills and collaborative working style
Initiative and growth mindset
Authorized to work lawfully in the United States
Must not require OnePay to sponsor an immigration case to employ you
