About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and manage Onyx's annual field events calendar
- Prioritize programs that drive pipeline at each stage of the funnel
- Own strategy for tier 1 national conferences, regional road shows, and Onyx-hosted events
- Define success metrics and build reporting frameworks to track ROI
- Execute major cybersecurity conferences including Black Hat and RSA
- Manage booth logistics, sponsorship deliverables, speaking submissions, vendor relationships, and on-site coordination
- Partner with product marketing on messaging and positioning
- Design and execute regional programs with field sales
- Plan and produce executive roundtables, prospect events, and customer experiences
- Build scalable regional event playbooks
- Produce channel marketing events with the channel team
- Partner with Account Executives and Sales Development Representatives to generate and accelerate pipeline
- Collaborate with demand generation and content teams on campaign strategy
- Drive pre-event outreach, on-site engagement, and post-event follow-up
- Own field marketing budget forecasting, tracking, and spend optimization
- Manage vendor and agency relationships, contract negotiations, and procurement
- Maintain accurate event data in CRM/MAP for pipeline attribution
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of field marketing experience
- At least 2–3 years in B2B cybersecurity, cloud technologies, or B2B SaaS
- Proven track record owning major industry events such as RSA and Black Hat from strategy through execution
- Experience as a one-person or small-team operator
- Strong sales partnership instincts and understanding of pipeline and revenue
- Excellent project management skills with ability to juggle multiple events simultaneously
- Experience managing field marketing budgets at a startup or high-growth company
- Proficiency with marketing and sales tools, including Salesforce
- Willingness to travel approximately 30–40% for events throughout the US
