About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Investigate potential scams and fraud involving OpenAI products, including complex or coordinated activity
- Document clear, defensible findings
- Assess urgent and ambiguous cases
- Distinguish substantiated abuse from legitimate use
- Recommend proportionate responses
- Communicate findings, uncertainty, and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional partners
- Work with colleagues across the company to improve responses to emerging scams and fraud
Requirements
What you’ll need- Understanding of online scams and financial fraud
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Experience working with complex information and learning new tools
- Ability to make careful judgments from incomplete or conflicting evidence
- At least five years investigating online scams, financial fraud, cybercrime, or related online abuse
- At least two years of experience conducting applied abuse research or improving investigative practices
- Ability to write clear, well-supported reports
- Ability to explain findings to technical and nontechnical audiences
- Understanding of how AI products can be misused
- Relevant language or regional expertise is a plus
- Must be able to work from a US office three days per week
- Must be authorized to work in the country where the job is located
